WordPress E-Mail Problem

WordPress users may experience problems with sending emails. This can happen for many reasons. Here are some possible causes and solutions:

Using a free email hosting service:

Free email hosting services usually have sending limits and will block email sending if you exceed the limit. If you are using a free email hosting service, try exceeding the sending limit.

Your email address is invalid or incorrect: Email addresses can be invalid or incorrect. Verify your email address and correct it if necessary.

Email sending limit exceeded: Some email hosting services allow you to send a certain number of emails per day. If you exceed your email sending limit, email sending may be blocked.

Email sent to spam folder: Sometimes your emails are sent to the spam folder. Verify your email address and correct it if necessary.

Email sending plugin problem: Email sending plugins can sometimes have problems sending emails. Update the email sending plugin and if the problem persists, try a new plugin.

SMTP settings issue: If you use SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) settings to send email, make sure the settings are correct. Incorrect SMTP settings can cause email sending to be blocked.

Email address blocked: Your email address may have been blocked due to spamming.

Server Misconfiguration Issue, WordPress SMTP Setup

WordPress supports sending emails through the web server. However, for a more reliable approach, you can use SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). SMTP is a standard protocol for sending emails and should be available on most server accounts. However, it does not use the same settings on every server account.

Therefore, WordPress uses the PHP mail() function by default. However, PHP mail() does not require validation and its connection is not secure, so there is a high risk that your emails will be sent to the spam folder.

You can use a plugin to configure WordPress with SMTP. If you are using the Fluent SMTP forms plugin, you can check your configuration for your Cloudron server to access the SMTP server.

Steps to check server misconfiguration issue:

- Determine the cause of the server misconfiguration issue.

- Check if your web server is working correctly.

- Verify the information required for WordPress to communicate with SMTP (SMTP server address, port, your sender email account credentials).

- Check the server's firewall rules.

- Check that access to the SMTP server or email account is not blocked.

- Check that the SMTP server is up and running.

- Here are the steps on how to set up SMTP in WordPress:

- Go to the WordPress administration panel.

Install and activate the Fluent SMTP plugin.

- In the SMTP plugin, enter your server's SMTP server address, port and the details of your sending email account.

- Select SSL or TLS encryption.

- Send a test email.

-If you have problems configuring WordPress with SMTP, check your server's configuration or the configuration of the SMTP server.
